The difference between knowing someone got in and knowing someone is trying to get in. Detection at the fence and in the garden, image verification, and an alert with a photo on your phone — before they reach the door.
The layers, in order
Early detection
Radar for the open volume of the garden, LiDAR for one critical plane, beams or curtains for straight fence runs. It fixes position and time, and starts the recording.
Image verification
An AI camera or thermal unit answers the only question that matters: is it a person? No agreement between the two layers, no alarm — that is what kills false alerts.
Alert, light, siren
A photo alert to the owner, zoned deterrence lighting and a siren within local noise rules. Hard-wired, so it works even with the network down.

Frequently asked questions
Which is better, a perimeter alarm or cameras?
They do not compete — they combine. The perimeter layer (radar, LiDAR, beams) detects early; the AI camera verifies it is a person. The alert only fires when both agree, which is what kills false alarms.
What is the difference between perimeter and volumetric detection?
Volumetric watches an interior volume or a zone; perimeter detects at the boundary of the plot, before the intruder reaches the house. Perimeter buys reaction time, which is what matters most.
Can the perimeter be protected without cables across the garden?
Often yes: there are wireless sensors and links, though power and reliability are studied case by case. What we do not recommend is trading continuity for looks.
How do you protect a very large plot?
With adequately ranged radar for the open volume and thermal on long, unlit sight lines. One radar unit can cover thousands of square metres; the visit measures where the shadows fall.
What about the blind zones behind the house?
Every solid obstacle casts a shadow: it is covered with a second unit or a LiDAR plane against the facade. The radar shadow is measured on site, not guessed.
Does it detect someone climbing over the fence?
Yes: it is a classic case. A wall-coping sensor or a LiDAR plane over the fence warns of the climb attempt, and the camera verifies.
Does it alert when a car comes up the driveway?
Yes: vehicle detection on the drive gives early warning, especially useful on fincas with a long access.
Does it work at night and in bad weather?
Radar does not depend on light and is unaffected by rain, shadows or headlights; thermal sees in total darkness. The AI camera relies on adequate lighting or the thermal channel.
Can only one side of the plot be protected?
Yes: it is designed by zones. It is common to reinforce the boundary towards the street or the mountain and keep the rest on a lighter layer.
Will the siren disturb the neighbours?
It is set to the municipal ordinance (in Málaga city, 60 seconds and 85 dBA at 3 m). Deterrence is reinforced with zoned lighting, which has no such limits.
What technology does my plot need?
It depends on the terrain: surface, subdivision, sight lines, lighting and distance to the sea. The selector on the technical page gives a steer, and the visit confirms it.
Can I integrate security with my existing home automation?
In many cases yes, via standard interfaces (KNX, Modbus, MQTT, relay). Anything that ties the project to one brand is decided consciously, not by inertia.
Does perimeter detection comply with Spanish law?
We install systems not connected to a receiving centre, outside the activities requiring authorisation under Law 5/2014. Video surveillance is configured under the LOPDGDD.
How much does a perimeter security system cost?
It depends on the surface and the number of layers. We do not quote by phone: the radar shadow and real sight lines are only measured on site, and that is where the price is set.
Does the installation need maintenance?
It is advisable, especially on the coast: salt air and heat work against the equipment. Maintenance is optional and with no lock-in.
What exactly is perimeter security?
Detecting the intruder on the grounds, before they reach the house: at the fence, in the garden, on the driveway. A detection layer (radar, LiDAR, beams) is paired with image verification, and an alert is raised only when both agree.
Is it worth it on a large plot?
That is where it earns its keep. A security radar covers thousands of square metres with one unit; thermal cameras extend coverage along long, dark sight lines. On small plots we will talk you out of it — the money does more in camera quality.
My garden has walls, hedges and terraces. Does radar still work?
Every solid obstacle casts a blind zone behind it — that is physics, not a product defect. Subdivided gardens need either combined technologies or a stronger camera layer; we measure the radar shadow on site rather than guessing it.
How many false alarms should I expect?
The target of proper commissioning is that your dog, your garden and the wind stop raising alerts. That is achieved with AI classification, the radar's vegetation filters and the LiDAR's per-zone size thresholds — plus the post-installation fine-tuning almost nobody bothers to do.
Can the siren run as long as it likes?
No. Málaga city, for instance, limits outdoor sirens by ordinance (60 seconds, 85 dBA at 3 m); each municipality's rules are respected. Deterrence is reinforced with zoned lighting, which has no such limits.
